As you may be aware, a group of volunteer parents was recently recognized as Andover’s Conditional Special Education Parent Advisory Council (SEPAC).  The purpose of a SEPAC is to advise the School Committee on matters that pertain to the education and safety of students with disabilities, and to support the families of students with disabilities.  In addition, an effective SEPAC serves as a resource to those with questions or concerns about Special Education.
Our objectives for the 2019/20 school year are to:
  1. Provide a collaborative and welcoming environment for interested parties to discuss their questions, concerns, and goals with regard to the district’s Special Education program;
  2. Gain an understanding of which Special Education topics are of the greatest interest to APS families; and
  3. Host workshops aimed at clarifying Special Education processes, and/or pertaining to specific areas of interest identified by its constituents.
