We don’t typically start planning for the following school year until the spring. However, we have a few parent volunteers currently serving in critical roles who will be departing soon (some ending this year, some in the next 1-2 years). Our goal is to identify replacements as soon as possible so they can train side-by-side with them while they’re still here. Overlapping of positions as volunteers transition in and out is one of the things that makes our PTO as successful as it is. Crucially, it also helps us provide the school with uninterrupted services.

  • Co-President (Board Position): This person will work alongside the current president for the 2025-2026 school year and take over fully in 2026-2027. Coordinates the work of officers and committees, keeps a calendar of processes and events and helps with kick offs, meets with the principal on a regular basis to go over PTO activities and school needs/requests, and presides over monthly board meetings. (Time commitment: 3-5 hours per week, ongoing)
  • Communications Chair (Board Position): Oversees the PTO communication channels, including authoring the monthly newsletter and email blasts, and oversees the website, social media channels, printed flyers, and more. (Time commitment: 5-6 hours per month, ongoing)
  • Cultural Arts Coordinators (2): Works with the school Cultural Arts liaison in planning and implementing cultural arts and curriculum enrichment programs, coordinates directly with outside vendors/assemblies. (Time commitment: 10-20 hours in July/August for initial scheduling, 1-2 hours per month, ongoing).
  • Learning Labs Coordinators (3): Coordinates and plans the winter and spring Learning Labs before- and after-school sessions. (Time commitment: 15-20 hours, 2x/year (October-December, February-April). The current volunteers are departing after this spring session. If we do not have replacement organizers, we are at risk for not having Learning Labs next year.
  • Website Administrator: Update the bancroftpto.org website regularly with new events, photo galleries from completed events, news posts, and more. No web development experience is necessary (but a good relationship with technology overall would help :)), we can train you! (Time commitment: 3-4 hours per month, ongoing).
