We realize how overwhelming the beginning of the schoolyear can be for not just teachers and students, but for parents too! We have all been there and can relate to the morning rush to get them off to school on time with a quick hug and to that heart racing, nervous feeling that overcomes you at the end of the day when you hope that very same bus that picked them up will return them with a smiling face and confirmation that they had a good day. The hours in between might feel like they take forever or they might fly by, but either way, to some of us, having a chance to see our children in action at school eases the curiousity of how they are doing during the schoolday.

Here are a few ideas of how the Bancroft PTO can help you with your own transition to give you opportunities to volunteer at the school during the school day and to meet other parents going through a similar transition:

  • Attend the upcoming PTO Meeting on Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at 7:00 pm (followed by a social gathering afterwards for those interested)
  • Volunteer in your child’s classroom – Each teacher handles this differently, so be sure to ask your child’s teacher if there are volunteer opportunities in their classroom
  • Volunteer in the library during your child’s class visits – More information will be coming soon from librarian Ms. Snow
  • Volunteer in the lunchroom to help guide and educate students on recycling, composting, drop and drain, food rescue and trash disposal of their lunch items. Please sign up here if interested http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0849a9ac29a1f58-bancroft3
