A message from Dr. Forsman in the May 15th Bancroft Bits school email update:
During the the month of May, Bancroft Elementary has joined up with the Birthday Wishes Club of Andover High School. The high school club is affiliated with the Birthday Wishes Organization that provides birthday parties to children in homeless shelters across New England. Our goal in working with them, is to gather presents and then donate them to the organization so every child will get the chance to celebrate their birthday with a present to open. Collection boxes will be placed in the Bancroft lobby from May 4-May 29. Below are some suggested items to help guide donations.
Wishlist for Northern MA/Southern NH:
1. Toys for 1 and 2 year olds – musical toys, stacking blocks, board books, stuffed animals
2. Legos and Barbie dolls
3. Electronic handheld games for teens (Rubix Cube, Hangman, Sudoku)
4. Basketballs, footballs, sport water bottles
5. *Packs of balloons, blowers, party hats, and happy birthday banners. Plates, napkins, decorations, etc. in Dora, Sesame Street, 1st Birthday, Super Hero
* Party supplies would be greatly appreciated but the focus of the collection will be toys
** Birthday wishes cannot accept food, anything used, toy weapons, or anything opened/not in original packaging.
